Effective January 31st, 2023, the AmbientTool App will no longer be available for use.

The AmbientTool App was designed to facilitate the connection between your Ambient Weather WS-2902 Weather Station Console (versions sold from December 2016 to May 2018) and your Wi-Fi router, enabling internet connectivity during the initial setup process.

After the app discontinuation date, if your WS-2902 console gets disconnected from Wi-Fi for any reason and needs to be reconnected, it will no longer be possible to reconnect your console to the Ambient Weather Network (AWN).

Please note that this change strictly applies to the WS-2902 console models purchased before May 2018. The more recent WS-2902A, WS-2902B, and WS-2902C consoles are not affected by this discontinuation and utilize the Awnet App for setup. Additionally, the WS-2902D console does not require an app for internet connectivity and allows users to connect using a web browser.

If you own one of the affected console models, it will continue to function normally until you need to update any Wi-Fi settings. This may include performing a firmware update or resetting your console. However, once the AmbientTool App is discontinued and you need to perform any of the aforementioned activities, your console will still display weather station readings but will cease to report your personal weather station dashboard information to AWN, including data collection and tracking.

To ensure an uninterrupted connection to AWN, it is recommended to upgrade to the Ambient Weather WS-2902D Console prior to January 31st, 2023. You can purchase a replacement console through the AmbientTool Upgrade Program by visiting <a href="https://ambientweather.com/ws-2902d-c-ambienttool">https://ambientweather.com/ws-2902d-c-ambienttool</a>.

In response to this app discontinuation, Ambient Weather is offering a limited-time discount to those affected. Eligible customers who upgrade their console can claim a $35 rebate until the end of 2022.
